Everything you can do with TViO
Installation, pairing and every remote action: what OK does, what a long press opens and where each setting lives.
Updated for TViO 0.4.14 · October 2026
The golden rule
OK does the obvious thing: open, play or choose. Holding OK opens the options for whatever is focused. It works the same on cards, channels, categories, matches and filters.
Installation
TViO runs on Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV and Android phones. On a TV, the quickest way is the Downloader app with code 6130638.
Direct download
On a TV, type the code into Downloader. On a phone, open the link in your browser. Both always fetch the latest stable version.
On your TV, with Downloader
Fire TV · Fire TV Stick · Android TV · Google TV
- Install the “Downloader” app (by AFTVnews). On Fire TV, find it in the Amazon Appstore; on Android TV and Google TV, in Google Play.
- Fire TV: let Downloader install apps in Settings › My Fire TV › Developer options › Install unknown apps › Downloader: On. If you don’t see Developer options, go to My Fire TV › About and press OK 7 times on the device name.
- Android TV and Google TV: turn on Settings › Apps › Security & restrictions › Unknown sources › Downloader. If it isn’t there, first enable developer mode in Settings › System › About by pressing “Android TV OS build” 7 times.
- Open Downloader and accept the file access permission if it asks.
- On the Home tab, select the “Enter a URL or Search Term” field, type 6130638 with the on-screen keyboard and press Go. Typing downloads.tvio.app/tv.apk works too.
- When the download finishes, press Install. Then press Done (not Open) and, when Downloader asks, press Delete twice to remove the APK and free up space.
- Open TViO from your apps and follow the pairing steps.
On an Android phone
Android phone or tablet
- Open Chrome on your phone and go to downloads.tvio.app/tv.apk.
- If Chrome warns the file may be harmful, tap “Download anyway”.
- Open the download from the notification or from Files › Downloads and tap tv.apk.
- The first time, Android asks for permission: tap Settings, turn on “Allow from this source” for Chrome (or your file manager) and go back.
- Tap Install. If Google Play Protect shows a warning, choose “More details” › “Install anyway”.
- Open TViO and add your playlist or sign in to your account.
Google Play
Android TV · Google TV
- On your TV, search for TViO in Google Play. From a phone or computer, open its Google Play listing with the same Google account your TV uses.
- Press Install. From a browser you can also pick your TV as the target device.
- Google Play keeps the app up to date.
With the APK, the app itself tells you about new versions (Settings › About › “Update available”) and installs them in one click. The Google Play and APK versions don’t update each other: to switch, uninstall the one you have first, then pair again.
First launch and pairing
TViO includes no content: it plays your own sources (Xtream Codes or M3U). You set them up from your phone, with no typing on the remote.
- Open TViO on the TV. You will see a QR code and a pairing code.
- Scan the QR with your phone, or open companion.tvio.app and enter the code.
- Add a new playlist with your provider’s details, or sign in if you already have an account. If this is your first time, tap “Create account” and sign up with your email: that is what lets you sync and manage everything from the Companion.
- Confirm on the phone. The TV downloads your channels, movies, series and programme guide (EPG). Large lists take a little longer.
- Done. If the code expires, press “Generate a new code”.
Your account and the Companion
The Companion (companion.tvio.app) is TViO’s website for managing everything from your phone or computer, without the remote. To use it you need an account with your email.
Without an account, TViO works as a guest: what you set up stays on that TV only, doesn’t sync and can’t be managed from the Companion.
Create your account
- During pairing, your phone offers “Create account”. You can also do it any time at companion.tvio.app › “Create account”.
- Enter your email and a password of at least 8 characters.
- Open the email we send you and tap the link to confirm it. It expires after 48 hours; if you can’t find it, check your spam folder.
- Already using TViO as a guest? On the TV go to Settings › Sync › “Create or link an account”, scan the QR, sign in and tap “Link to this account”. Your playlist moves to your account without setting it up again.
Your account on another TV
- Install TViO on the new TV and open it.
- Scan the QR and choose to use your existing account. Sign in.
- Pick which playlists to restore. The TV downloads them and gets your state back (favorites, groups, orders).
Without Premium the account works on 1 device; with Premium, on up to 5. If you hit the limit, revoke a TV from Devices in the Companion and scan again. If you installed TViO from Google Play, Premium is bought on the TV itself through Google Play.
Delete your account
- Sign in at companion.tvio.app.
- Go to Settings › Danger Zone › “Delete account”.
- Enter your password and press “Delete my account”. If you have a subscription that renews, it is cancelled at that moment and you won’t be charged again; the Companion warns you first.
- Done. Your TVs go back to the welcome screen and your email is free in case you ever want to come back.
Only the minimum is kept: that the account existed and was deleted, and the purchase records the law and billing require, with no email or password. Data stored on the TV itself is removed when you uninstall TViO, or from Android settings › Apps › TViO › Clear data. Can’t sign in? Email support@tvio.app from the account’s address with the subject “Delete my TViO account”. Full details at tvio.app/delete-account.

The same quick actions (My List and More info) appear when you hold OK on any poster in Movies, Series and Search. Choose which rows you see in Settings › Interface › Home.
Live
On the left, your categories and groups; on the right, channels with what is on now. The focused channel plays in the mini player.
Goes full screen.
Opens “Channel options”.
Opens “Category options”.
Rather not have the mini player start as you scroll? Turn on Settings › Interface › “Preview only on OK”: the first OK plays it small, the second goes full screen.

Opens the detail page. From there, Play or “Resume”.
“Add to My List” or “Remove from My List”, and “More info”.

When a title comes in several versions, the detail page shows which languages each one has. With “Always play in my language” (Settings › Playback) TViO picks the version in your language for you.
Player
The same remote does different things depending on whether you are watching a live channel or a movie.

Rewinds live TV.
Closes the panel or leaves the player.
Movies and episodes
Play or pause.
Rewind or fast-forward, without opening the bar.
Shows the progress bar and options.
At the end of an episode a countdown appears and the next one starts. Turn it off in Settings › Playback › “Autoplay next episode”.
Sports Center
Turns your guide into a match agenda: what is on, when, and on which channels of your playlists.
Plays it on the recommended channel.
“Remind me”: you get a notice 5 minutes before. OK again removes it.
Watch the replay, when your provider has one (replay badge).
Opens “Broadcasts” and “Follow”.
Follow, pin or hide that sport.
Reorder the filters and bring back hidden ones.
Change day or sport.
If a channel isn’t showing the match, open the player panel and press “Not working” or “Not this event”: TViO moves it to the end of the list and tries another. In “Following” (at the top) you pick teams and competitions, and Search finds a team, competition or match.

Common problems
What you ask us most.
A channel won’t load
Try another channel for the same match (hold OK on it in Sports Center) or update the playlist in Settings › Playlist › “Update playlist”. If nothing changes, it may be your provider.
Sports Center shows no matches, or the guide is empty
Sports Center reads the programme guide. Check that you have a source in Settings › EPG and update it.
I hid something by mistake
Channels come back from Settings › Playlist › “Hidden channels”; categories from the category management on the same screen.
My favorites don’t show on another TV
Both TVs need to be linked to the same account. See Settings › Sync.
